The opportunity EY's Global Tax Desk Network is staffed by tax professionals from approximately 10 global jurisdictions (i.e., Asia, EMEIA and the Americas), providing real-time tax advice to our global clients. The Global Tax Desk teams work together with local country tax professionals to provide in-depth tax advice on the laws in their home jurisdictions and tax-effective structuring of multi-country transactions. The teams provide comprehensive tax advice to clients who are engaged in international transactions or expanding across borders.

Our EMEIA Global Tax Desk team has over 60 professionals including a large representation from the United States and representation from Africa, US, Chile, China, Colombia, India, Mexico, Russia and the Netherlands. The team is primarily based in London but we have tax professionals in Paris, Rotterdam, Munich, Madrid, Manama and Doha.

Our US Desk is looking for a Staff member with experience of having worked, or completed an internship in a corporate environment to support the US Tax Desk leader in London. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a multicultural and diverse team and play a key role in in-bound investment projects to the US.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Support the US Tax Desk to build and maintain tax relationships with clients and provide the highest levels of client service.
  • Assist in winning work by proactively managing existing clients and contributing to the pursuit of new clients.
  • Support the US Partners and Senior Manager to successfully deliver tax projects ensuring technical excellence is delivered at all times with a business-driven approach that fully aligns with EY values.
  • Help drive the Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy for the US Desk and support the US team to input into the overall GTM strategy of the EMEIA Tax Desk.

This is a role involving close teaming with colleagues around the world to drive success; to succeed in this role you should be a great communicator, a pro-active problem solver, have a flexible and adaptable approach, be curious to constantly learn and develop and have the resilience to deliver in the competitive world of international tax.

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • Proven knowledge of International and US tax.
  • A strong grounding in the basics of negotiation skills, the ability to sustain opinion and handle challenges.
  • A great teaming attitude with a proven ability to work in teams.
  • A client driven attitude and be strategically and commercially aware.
  • Excellent English, both written and oral, as English is the universal language used in International Tax across our global locations.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Law and LLM in Taxation.
