As a Senior Consultant, you will balance internal and external responsibilities, comprising client service, business development support, operational excellence and personal development, with a focus on our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain and strengthen relationships, becoming a trusted advisor in at least one supply‑chain domain (operations, planning, procurement, manufacturing, etc.).
  • Contribute to or lead a workstream within a project and manage activities to complete deliverables within your remit.
  • Actively participate in core project teams, often collaborating with colleagues from different parts of EY.
  • Help develop proposals to showcase leading practices.
  • Engage the market with thought leadership and a public profile, enhancing our methodologies.
  • Work across internal sector and account teams to grow your network and bring commercial and procurement expertise to bear.
  • Support the successful delivery of projects by managing your work products and contributions against time and budget forecasts.
  • Ensure the quality of deliverables exceeds client expectations by effectively managing activities within your remit.
  • Maintain a personal development program to continually enhance technical and consulting skills.
  • Grow people‑leadership experience through leading as part of client and internal teams.

Experience & Technical Skills

Senior Consultants should have experience in at least one of the technical skills below and exposure to one or more of the others.

  • Supply Chain Strategy: Operating Model Design, Segmentation Strategy, and Inventory Optimisation – understanding end‑to‑end supply‑chain issues and potential performance‑improvement solutions.
  • Supply Chain Transformation – experience on significant transformation projects, including design, setup, delivery, people, process and technology change.
  • Digital Supply Chain – applying or implementing next‑generation technologies such as RPA, cognitive automation, AI, IoT, blockchain and big‑data analytics.
  • Supply Chain Analytics – developing detailed analytics to deliver enhanced end‑to‑end visibility, including integration of customer and pricing analytics.
  • Supply Chain Planning (Functional) – demand and supply planning, S&OP, segmentation, inventory optimisation, and/or production scheduling.
  • Supply Chain Planning with Technology – knowledge of OMP, Kinaxis, o9, Aera, SAP IBP, Blue Yonder or SAP S/4HANA.
  • Logistics – network design and modelling, global customs and trade understanding, warehouse design and optimisation, 3PL and 4PL or Control Tower management.
  • Manufacturing – optimisation at plant level and holistic network optimisation.
  • Procurement – strategic, operational or transactional procurement across the buying lifecycle, technology deployment, and analytics, including SAP Ariba.
  • Service and Asset Management Transformation – end‑to‑end lifecycle covering strategy, budgeting, sourcing, warehousing, inventory, repairs, disposals and asset accounting.

Our Senior Consultants have excellent verbal and written communication skills, are proactive self‑starters, and possess innovative qualities that enable high‑quality work to be delivered, often in short timeframes. Professional membership or qualifications (e.g., CIPS, IACCM) are advantageous but not mandatory; we welcome complementary skills.
