We have an exciting opportunity to join our Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions tax team, working within our International Transaction Tax Service (ITTS) team, who are recognised as being leaders in cross border M&A. You will be working with some of the largest corporations in the world, advising them on their M&A deals.

In this team, you will get wide-ranging experience in all the core areas of the deal cycle, including tax structuring, sell and buy side tax due diligence, funds flows, SPA reviews and refinancings. As deal advisers, International Transaction Tax team members not only get good UK tax technical experience but also gain a commercial understanding of what is important to our clients in a deal context. As a large part of ITTS work is cross-border, you will also have exposure to international structuring techniques and overseas tax regimes.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Management of the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding transaction tax projects for clients, ensuring technical excellence and a practical/business focus approach.
  • Pursuit of business development opportunities.
  • Provision of development support to junior members of the team through effective supervision, coaching and mentoring.
  • Contribution to people initiatives, including retaining and training our team.
  • Significant role in the management of the team both in terms of strategy and operations and also through managing junior staff development and assignments.

  • Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral.
  • M&A tax experience or UK/international tax advisory experience.

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • ACA / Law qualification / Tax specialist qualification / or breadth of knowledge equivalent to a Tax specialist qualification.
  • Strong tax technical and project delivery skills.
  • Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work.
  • Experience of coaching and developing more junior staff.
  • Knowledge of the tax elements of Mergers & Acquisitions is helpful but not a pre-requisite for the role.
