Global Compliance Reporting (“GCR”) US is a London based team dedicated to delivering the highest quality US tax services to market‑leading EMEIA based Wealth Asset Management clients. We provide comprehensive and specialized tax assistance tailored to the unique needs of the EMEIA asset management industry. You would join our growing team of 50+ tax professionals from all around the world who are knowledgeable and experienced with varied and specialized facets of hedge fund, private equity fund, real estate fund, credit fund taxation, including fund and organizational structuring, tax minimization planning, on‑call advice, and tax compliance.

Your key responsibilities:

  • The role will primarily involve overseeing private equity fund US tax compliance engagements for clients with appropriate consideration of risk, operational, and tax technical issues.
  • Researching US tax legislation and explaining the impact to asset management clients will be required as part of contributing to tax consulting projects.
  • You will be working in a dynamic environment catering to business needs and be expected to coach junior staff members (both onshore and offshore), and share your knowledge and experience with the team.
  • You will also be expected to coordinate multiple engagement teams’ schedules and deadlines.

Skills and attributes for success:

  • Understanding of and experience with reviewing partnership allocations, carry waterfall, equalization, etc.
  • Experience advising clients on the US tax impact of various fund structures, as well as US tax elections.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to be a team player.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Enthusiasm for coaching and developing team members.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • US CPA license, Enrolled Agent license, or in the process of pursuing such qualification.
  • Knowledge of partnership and U.S. international tax concepts and related tax laws.
  • Experience with analysing US federal tax issues applicable to partnerships, and other flow‑through entities applicable to asset management clients.
  • Extensive experience in preparing and reviewing partnership tax returns and Schedules K‑1/3.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Go Systems tax preparation software or similar system.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience managing cross‑border teams of 2‑6 people.
  • Ability to liaise directly with non‑tax stakeholders at your clients to explain US tax concepts at a practical level.
  • Knowledge of outbound US taxation issues and concepts, e.g. PFIC, CFC, CFP.
  • Knowledge of common management company structures and their US tax considerations.
  • Asset management industry experience and product knowledge.
  • Experience in delivering technical and soft skills training to junior team members.
