Our VAT professionals help clients identify opportunities and mitigate indirect tax risks. They use their deep sector experience and knowledge of our UK legal and regulatory systems to help clients meet their compliance obligations as well as achieve their business goals. Our Indirect Tax professionals provide pragmatic commercial help so clients improve their day-to-day reporting for indirect tax. This includes improving working capital, reducing errors, reducing costs and ensuring indirect taxes are handled correctly. They advise how indirect taxes such as value added tax (VAT) impinge on the client’s supply chain and financial and accounting systems.
Your key responsibilities
- Support senior members of the team in building and maintaining tax relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service.
- Support senior members of the team in building relationships both within the firm and externally with clients, identifying opportunities and managing expectations.
- Contribute to winning new work by proactively managing existing clients and contribute to winning new clients.
- Support the senior members of the team in managing the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical/business driven approach taken.
- Responsible for day-to-day delivery of client liaison.

- Relevant Tax experience within VAT.
- Strong Tax technical skills and keen to develop further.
- Ability to build strong client relationships.
- Excellent communicator in range of situations both written and oral.
- Ability to identify areas of risk, carry out an effective review and know when to refer upwards.
- Client focused and commercially aware.
- Team player with ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
- UK VAT specialist experience from the profession or in-house team.
Ideally, you’ll also
- Ideally ATT / ACA / CA / Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training course / Tax specialist qualification / or breadth of knowledge equivalent to a Tax specialist qualification. Formal qualifications are not mandatory, so please reach out if you have relevant experience.
