Responsibilities

  • As an Assistant Director you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered to the highest standards.
  • You will scope how projects will be delivered, agree the approach with clients and coach junior team members through delivery.
  • Throughout engagements you will manage the financial aspects of engagements by preparing a budget, organising staffing, tracking engagement economics, keeping clients up to date and communicating the status to the project partner.
  • In addition to delivering work you will develop new business by responding to clients’ requests for proposals and by building and leveraging your own network of internal and external contacts.
  • Our team is part of EY’s Strategy and Transactions business and you will work closely with colleagues across functions to help our clients navigate complex transactions.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working in a treasury function within a corporate or in a consulting firm, providing detailed practical advice to treasurers on overcoming business issues, including establishment of treasury functions, defining and implementing strategies, plans, policies, and procedures to manage treasury risks.
  • Knowledge of treasury good practice, including banking landscapes, cash pooling and cash management arrangements, financial risk management, cash flow forecasting, and treasury systems landscape.
  • Experience drafting treasury policies, procedures and processes.
  • Analytical skills to solve problems and formulate views and conclusions.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Stakeholder management across multiple functions; understanding transaction context and client business issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and inclusive teaming; ability to coach and develop junior members.
  • 8+ years’ experience in a finance role, working with large corporates as an advisor or employee.
  • 5+ years’ experience in treasury or cash management, either in a consulting role or in a treasury department at a large corporate.
  • Excellent project management skills, managing multiple assignments in a fast‑paced environment.
  • People‑management experience and evidence of coaching others.
  • Technical knowledge sharing with the team.
  • Flexible, positive approach and adaptability.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Professional accountancy and/or treasury qualification (preferred).
  • European language skills (optional).
