EY-Parthenon's Operational Decision Intelligence team is a rapidly growing part of our business that combines deep Operational Research, modelling and analytics expertise with a commercial consulting mindset to help clients address complex strategic and operational challenges.

We work with major corporate clients, government departments and other public sector bodies, advising them on complex strategic, commercial and operational decisions.

Our projects often involve managing multiple stakeholders and high degrees of complexity and uncertainty.

Decision making in this environment requires strong client management and communication skills, in addition to a rigorous analytical mindset and excellent data handling skills.

Although the team is largely London-based, we operate as a national team and many of our engagements involve multinational clients.

This role will most likely require some travel within the UK and could require overseas working from time to time.

Responsibilities

  • Leading a growth area for the team, being the go-to person across the sales cycle and delivery of engagements.
  • Leading delivery throughout the life-cycle of an assignment - requirements definition, specification, data collection, solution design, development, testing, documentation, implementation and user training.
  • Leading the team delivery of projects, managing and supervising the project team and supporting junior team members to develop their skills and technical expertise.
  • Managing risks during the sales and delivery lifecycle and working alongside more senior team members and clients to mitigate risk.
  • Grow an internal and external network to create new opportunities for the team.
  • Work directly with clients to design and build complex models/algorithms and employ insightful visualisation to translate the solution into an easy-to-understand outputs
  • Identify opportunities for utilising AI to innovate and/or drive efficiency within projects.
  • Identify new opportunities in the market and develop new business and offerings alongside Directors and Partners in the team.
  • This role will specifically require Operational Research skills with experience in optimisation, supply chain modelling and analytics, A strong academic background, e. g.

Degree in Operational Research or equivalent in a numerate or analytical subject.

  • Direct experience with Operational Research techniques such as discrete event simulation, mathematical programming or systems dynamics.
  • Experience of working within or providing specialist modelling/analytical support for operational performance improvement, or developing analysis underpinning strategic change.
  • Strong understanding of business issues and how advanced analytics can be used to support businesses to make better decisions.
  • Experience in managing projects, from defining requirements, designing project plans and managing performance against plan through the project lifecycle.
  • Experience in business development and the development of compelling proposals for new work.
  • Effective communication skills to be able to work collaboratively with a team, in a concerted effort towards delivering work products of the highest standard as well as coaching team members to get the most out of them.
  • Previous evidence of working with clients and model users to identify their particular needs, and evidence of problem-solving previous client problems.
  • Experience in SQL Server, MS Excel and VBA. Experience of modelling languages such as R or Python is a plus
  • Experience of employing visualisation tools to display outputs in a compelling way.
  • Experience of user interface development e. g. using React.
