The opportunity - This role is for applicants based in Jersey/Channel Islands only.

A Jersey based Senior Associate/ Assistant Manager to support on all day-to‑day recruitment and talent operations.

The role will be responsible for supporting the Talent agenda for the Channel Islands and a key point of contact for employees and counsellors (managers) on a range of talent‑related matters.

The role holder will build a deep understanding of business unit direction and Talent related topics/issues to ensure successful implementation of key projects and processes.

The role would work alongside a Talent Assistant Manager and Strategic Talent Consultants based in Guernsey and UK, so a teaming and communicative, collaborative approach is essential. Local Talent Partners in Jersey and Guernsey will also be key points of contact and direction for this role.

The role would suit someone with a hands‑on approach and keen interest in broad, generalist HR given the scope for the role. A people focused, energetic and collaborative approach to engage with the business and wider Talent teams would be key to working collaboratively in a team environment, as well as a proactive approach to managing ad‑hoc operational queries. Someone keen to build relationships both internally and externally to develop and harness talent and strong client focus with the ability to build good relationships with multiple stakeholders across the organisation at all levels given the matrixed structure of the business would be helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Go‑to Talent contact in Jersey
  • Managing the recruitment of experienced hire alongside associated mobility/immigration requirements and careers fairs including sourcing talent, interviewing and onboarding
  • New starter inductions
  • Advising the business on leavers
  • Professional Qualification Administration
  • Directing queries to central teams where needed
  • Promote a culture of accountability, ensuring policies are understood, followed, and regularly reviewed.
  • Maintaining the local relationships to maintain and enhance EY’s brand
  • Provide HR coordination in helping to deliver key HR annual operational activities including the Firm’s performance and development process, LEAD, annual pay review and ad hoc professional qualifications promotions
  • Working closely with wider Talent colleague across the islands to align Talent process to ensure efficiencies for the CI Talent Team

Experience, Qualifications & Personal Qualities

  • Strong relationship building skills and a proactive approach
  • Understanding of broad HR remit
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced environment where quality delivery and client service is key
  • Ability to be resilient, practical and a self-starting, comfortable with working on own and with teams
  • Possesses knowledge of contemporary HR practices
