As a Manager within our Banking & Payments Transformation team focused on payments transformations, you will play a key role in delivering impactful transformation engagements within a dynamic payments landscape while also supporting proposition development and market activity. You will support top‑tier clients across banking, fintech, and financial services in implementing strategic operating‑model changes, process improvements, navigating regulatory developments, delivering cost efficiencies, and adopting new technologies. Combining strong consulting delivery with hands‑on payments experience, you will lead workstreams, translating strategy into actionable delivery across complex, multi‑rail environments.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Lead workstream delivery on critical payment transformation programs addressing consumer, corporate, & card payments, ensuring high‑quality outcomes that meet client objectives, timelines, and budgets while managing cross‑functional teams and stakeholder expectations.
  • Shape the design of scalable and sustainable operating models and engineer business processes to drive efficiency, reduce complexity and enhance agility.
  • Translate programme objectives into clear and actionable execution roadmaps and detailed delivery workplans, deliverables and artefacts.
  • Monitor and analyze industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in payments to inform programme approaches and support thought‑leadership initiatives.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposal development, client pursuits, and the formulation of insightful hypotheses and market analysis.
  • Coach and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance team environment.
  • Apply EY methodologies and tools effectively, promoting technical excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Uphold EY’s quality standards, professional ethics, and risk‑management practices, ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements while protecting client and public interests.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in the payments industry or relevant roles within financial services, with a solid understanding of payment products, services, operating models and regulatory expectations.
  • Familiarity with key payments ecosystem components, including real‑time payments, open banking, cross‑border payments, and payments risk/fraud management.
  • Hands‑on experience supporting or leading transformation initiatives involving operating‑model design, process optimisation, and control framework development within payments or related financial services domains.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workstreams, coordinate stakeholders, and contribute to project delivery within complex, multi‑disciplinary programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and deliverables.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with clients and internal teams at various levels.
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive mindset towards business development and client relationship support.
  • A collaborative approach with a commitment to mentoring junior team members and contributing to a positive team culture.

Success in this role would be measured by your ability to:

  • Support the origination of client engagements by contributing to proposal development, client relationship management, and execution excellence.
  • Lead and manage high‑quality workstreams within payments transformation programs, ensuring timely delivery of impactful solutions that meet client objectives and maintain rigorous standards.
  • Effectively manage stakeholders, proactively identify and mitigate risks, and uphold strong governance practices to ensure program/workstream integrity and alignment with client expectations.
  • Actively contribute to the development and refinement of the firm’s Payments Transformation propositions, leveraging market insights and client feedback to enhance service offerings.
  • Foster team capability growth by mentoring junior colleagues, sharing knowledge, and promoting a collaborative, inclusive, and high‑performance culture.

What we offer:
