At EY, the Risk Management group is dedicated to promoting, protecting, and supporting risk management throughout the organisation. This group strives to uphold business standards, maintain and strengthen brand value, and ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations governing business conduct.
The UK&I Conflicts Team operates as part of the UK&I Risk Management Group, which reports directly to senior management.
The Opportunity
As a Conflicts Associate, you will play a key role in supporting the assessment of whether new and existing engagements present any conflicts of interest, in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements, across all practice areas. This assessment considers legal, regulatory, and professional standards - including those from the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and the Solicitors Regulation Authority - as well as firm policies, reputation considerations, and commercial implications.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the UK&I Conflict Team central mailbox, addressing enquiries from partners, employees, and the Global Delivery Service Central Conflicts Team, and efficiently triaging queries to colleagues.
- Reviewing and approving ring-fencing declarations.
- Analysing data contained within the firm's client and engagement management systems.
- Maintaining dashboards, recording statistics, and monitoring key performance indicators.
- Assisting with data cleansing initiatives.
- Reviewing and approving internal billing procedures.
- Coordinating and implementing departmental projects and strategic initiatives.
