The opportunity
With the continuing and rapid development of tax technology solutions and in particular Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions, it is necessary to enhance our operational models to achieve success in the future. In preparation for the future, EY Tax and Law have created a new “Centre of Excellence” (CoE) to support SaaS solutions throughout their lifecycle. The objectives of the SaaS CoE are twofold:
- Operational management of Tax and Law SaaS solutions
- Sales enablement and support to drive the market success of these solutions.
In joining the SaaS CoE, you will have an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success of this new business unit, becoming deeply embedded in the operational management of the SaaS CoE and thus ensuring the smooth running of the technology solutions that it supports. We are looking for an Indirect Tax professional to join the Global VAT Reporting Tool (GVRT) content team within the SaaS CoE, dedicated to achieving success in the continued development of the content management of the product, helping drive efficiency through this technical role, which spans across indirect tax knowledge and system level product support.
Your key responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with the Product Manager and Content Manager to proactively assess how local indirect tax legislative and administrative updates could impact the central product configuration
- Developing a comprehensive knowledge of the solution
- Authoring documentation to explain content updates and configuration changes to internal and client users
- Investigating and resolving incoming content and product-related tickets and incidents from the support desk
- Proactively identify improvements that could apply across multiple countries, using examples from individual countries
- With authorization from the Product Manager, execute system level product changes to ensure that content changes are reflected accurately in the software
- Working with regional specialists and the content team to ensure that content configuration for each country remains up to date and compliant with local requirements
- Collaborating with the e-filing team to ensure that XML and other technical filing outputs remain up to date with technical schemas
Skills and attributes for success
We are looking for people with excellent communication abilities with relevant experience from indirect tax and indirect tax technology, preferable an indirect tax SaaS solution. To qualify for the role, you must have:
- A background in VAT/GST advisory, compliance and reporting, with exposure to multiple countries/jurisdictions
- Experience with use and/or implementation of Indirect Tax reporting software solutions
- Strong analytical skills and capable of independently resolving issues
- Communicates successfully with both technical and non-technical audiences in both written and verbal communication
- Ability to work with stakeholders and colleagues from a range of disciplines and backgrounds in a professional and collaborative way
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience working in a professional services environment
- Understanding of other Indirect Taxes (Plastic Packaging Tax, Insurance Premium Tax, etc.)
- Familiarity with the Agile methodology or other product development methodologies
- Good technology proficiency (Excel, automation, BI, etc.)
- Experience with GVRT
