The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an Expatriate Tax Advisor to join our UK&I team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with other members of the Global Mobility team, focusing on delivering exceptional service to our clients and showcasing your solid tax technical knowledge. Your role will involve advising clients on their international assignment, short-term business traveller, and cross-border remote worker programs.
About You
- Experienced Expatriate Tax practitioner
- Strong technical skills and keen to develop further.
- Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral.
- A strategic and commercial awareness of wide business issues.
- An enthusiastic and flexible attitude to work.
- The ability to be a strong and motivated team player.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Project management skills, plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines, monitor own budget.
- Experience working in Mobility or Mobility compliance dealing with tax compliance issues and tax advisory projects and where appropriate providing technical advice.
- Ability to identify areas of risk, carry out an effective review and know when to refer upwards.
- Client-focused and commercially aware.
- Relationship management skills with the ability to manage client expectations.
- Ability to solve problems creatively and pragmatically.
- ATT/ACA/CA/ACCA/CTA/Law qualification (or equivalent)
Your key responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service.
- Assist in winning work by proactively managing existing clients and contributing to winning new clients.
- Assist in managing the successful delivery of mobility projects, ensuring appropriate tax technical excellence and practical/business-driven approach taken.
- Keep clients up to date on key legislative changes and the impact this will have on their business.
- Delegating to junior members of staff and assisting with their learning and development.
- Shape the future of the practice as it expands the breadth and depth of services it offers clients.
- Contribute to successfully extracting maximum value for both EY and clients from the services delivered whilst managing risk appropriately for both client and the firm.
