The FS Financial Diligence team assists clients throughout the entire transaction process, working closely with specialists from Strategy and Transactions and other Service Lines. The role involves traditional financial due diligence as well as broader transaction support, including strategic assessment, transaction management, negotiation, documentation, value creation and post‑completion activities.

Your key responsibilities

  • Based on an understanding of key business drivers, prepare analyses of historical and pro‑forma financial information to assess trends and fluctuations that may impact funding requirements and deal valuation.
  • Perform industry and company research using online tools and publicly available information.
  • Assist in researching technical accounting and regulatory issues to evaluate implications for transaction valuation and structuring.
  • Prepare client deliverables including Excel databook analysis, reports, presentations and discussion packs.
  • Assist in managing the input of other service lines to the assignment, gaining a good overall understanding of key transaction issues.
  • Develop and maintain an external and internal network of contacts through personal contacts and previous client assignments.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Commercial awareness gained through direct experience in the financial services sector (e.g., from within an Audit or Transaction Support role).
  • Strong academic record including a degree.
  • Experience working within the Financial Services Sector.
  • Excellent analytical, IT and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Strong work initiative and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas.
  • Strong Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
