In Transformation Architecture, we help our clients see their future, define their purpose and design, lead and deliver the end‑to‑end transformations to realise these ambitions.
The opportunity
This is a leadership role. You will work with a talented team to bring EY’s sustainability offering to the energy and utilities sector and the wider business community. Your day‑to‑day work will be client‑facing: scoping solutions, embedding with clients, and leveraging our portfolio to market. You will be commercially focused, experienced in business development, and comfortable operating at scale.
What we are looking for
We seek senior‑manager level professionals passionate about solving transformation and strategic problems in the energy sector, applying sustainability principles, and delivering insightful, rigorous, and practical recommendations.

- Energy policy and regulation
- Energy market design and modelling
- Power system operational policy and applications
Your key responsibilities:
- Demonstrate strong commercial experience in the energy industry in Ireland or abroad.
- Build quality, trusted relationships with clients that drive lasting outcomes, leveraging your own network and EY’s network.
- Create high‑quality work products and act as a subject matter resource on one or more areas of the energy sector.
- Deliver clear and concise communication with internal and external stakeholders, including workshops and formal presentations; show high competency in Microsoft Suite.
- Lead, manage and empower multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Develop impactful thought leadership for business development, engagement delivery, and marketing to enhance EY’s profile in the energy sector.
- Build strong internal, cross‑competency relationships to bring EY’s offerings to market through business development initiatives.
- Drive improvements in business processes, serving as a role model for Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM) and ensuring teams comply with Q&RM guidelines.
Skills and attributes for success:
To qualify for the role you must have:
- Extensive experience within the energy sector in Ireland or abroad, either in industry or at a blue‑chip consulting firm (strong consulting track record highly desirable).
- Experience delivering complex projects in the energy market in Ireland or abroad.
- A proven track record in delivering strategic and business transformation in the energy sector.
- Senior stakeholder management (e.g., Board, C‑Suite) and communication experience.
- Proven track record in business development.
- Strong academic record including a third‑level degree.
Ideally, you’ll also have experience delivering elements of projects such as:
- Strategy implementation, including design and development of long‑term strategic roadmaps, implementation planning, critical success factors, and best‑practice models.
- Trend analyses to assess current market landscape, identify growth levers, vision, and prioritise strategic choices, guiding organisations through business model reinvention.
- Operating model design and development, including interim and target operating models, and facilitation of workshop‑based processes across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Experience supporting development of business and commercial cases for significant new investment or policy changes.
