Events Executive

Level 2 Executive, reports into Events Manager

The opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) team at EY UK, and play a key role in helping realise this goal.

Within BMC, you will be part of the Major Events, Sponsorships and Key Buyer Programmes team, at the epicentre of where BMC plans turn into action and the rubber hits the road. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional client experiences that engage, inform, and delight our audiences which in turn drive growth, strengthen strategic relationships and elevate the EY brand to fuel market success. We are looking for an events executive to join our team of ten.

Our team deliver a wide portfolio of both internal and external events. From activating our partnerships with the arts, our Entrepreneur of the Year programme to events hosted in our offices to large internal conferences. The role would suit a pragmatic, energetic and creative individual who works well in a team environment but can also work on smaller projects independently.

Your key responsibilities

  • Support in the delivery of major events and key buyer programmes
  • Project management and delivery of smaller events hosted in EY offices
  • Manage all risk related processes, including contracting and negotiating with third party suppliers, working closely with our procurement teams, health & safety and GDPR compliance.
  • Apply the firm’s visual and verbal identity across all activations
  • Management and accuracy of data and attendee lists
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of delivery including room/venue bookings, catering, collateral/assets, delegate packs, internal and external communications, delegate management, project plans etc.
  • Draft key communications that are clear and consistent
  • Manage feedback and return on investment for events
  • Implement and champion our event sustainability framework
  • Stakeholder communications and management

Skills and attributes for success

  • Extremely organised and efficient with strong project management skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Highly creative
  • Good relationship and people skills
  • Experience of using a marketing database and/or marcomms tool
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Experience of managing budgets and negotiating contracts
  • Track record of managing and/or working with external suppliers
  • A can-do, flexible and energised work ethic

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Experience of end-to-end event management
  • Experience of working in a corporate environment, ideally in financial or professional services
  • The ability to work in a team as well as on your own initiative
  • The flexibility to travel and work outside of contracted office hours

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience of managing budgets
