Tax departments today face more challenges than ever before. Not only do they need to deliver their basic compliance and reporting commitments with reducing resources, aging systems and increased internal pressures, but they are also increasingly having to face the scrutiny of digital tax authorities who are becoming more invasive, demanding more data more frequently. For many tax functions, this situation is becoming unsustainable and change is needed urgently. The EY Innovation Hive team within our Tax Technology & Transformation team specialise in helping clients navigate these challenges by bringing the most advanced technology platforms and tools to clients to address their challenges.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our team. We are looking for someone with excellent problem-solving skills and strong people management skills to help drive change in a dynamic organisation. By joining The Innovation Hive\’s Sales & Growth Team, you\’ll build your experience in transforming the way EY delivers services to clients, as well as advising clients directly on how to manage the strategic as well as practical, everyday issues of operating and improving the performance of their tax departments using technology. We are looking for strong candidates with experience of working within tax (in-house or professional services) or consultancy and with a keen interest in technology.
Responsibilities
- Develop excellent relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, supporting them with identifying new ways to use technology and advising them on the best way to implement these solutions
- Give live demonstrations of EY\’s technology offerings to internal and external stakeholders, advising on the best solutions to meet client challenges
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and work closely with our product team to share feedback and suggest solutions.
- Support with go-to-market activities including drafting proposal materials, running training sessions, software implementations and ongoing support to ensure our clients have the best experience with the solution
- Support with technology implementations for clients, building strong relationships and providing advice throughout the delivery of the engagement.
- Work with wider EY teams to identify new opportunities for selling software to EY\’s clients, as well as identifying areas where we can enhance and optimise the delivery of our services to clients using technology
- Work with internal EY tax teams to support delivery of complex managed services engagements that utilise EY\’s technology assets
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of Big 4 experience, or equivalent in-house or consulting experience
- Professional experience in managing and delivering client engagements including scoping, managing delivery risk, execution, quality and review of deliverables
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both senior and junior stakeholders
- Strong time management skills and an ability to work efficiently with little supervision, prioritising shifting workloads as needed in a fast-changing environment
- A passion for technology and a desire to learn more about how technology can be used to help support our clients
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook etc.)
Ideally, you\’ll also have some of the following (not required):
- Accounting or Tax qualification (e.g. ACA, CTA, ATT)
- Prior experience working in a tax, technology or business transformation role
- Working knowledge of tax regulation and processes (e.g. FATCA/CRS, Corporate Tax, Indirect Tax etc)
- Previous experience supporting clients to implement technology solutions
- Curious – you like to understand why things are done the way they are, and how they could be continuously improved. You are eager to learn about EY, our clients and their businesses.
- Collaborative – you work well with others to develop a stronger outcome than achieved individually. You seize learning and knowledge sharing opportunities
