Are you a Protection & Control Design Engineer or similar looking for a specialist role offering full autonomy to oversee technical National Grid projects essential for the ongoing supply of energy across the UK within a company moving from strength-to-strength who offer a dynamic range of progression opportunities?

This growing company is a provider of front end engineering services for a varied client base working on National Grid projects. They are moving from strength-to-strength, undertaking major growth since their establishment in 2021, and due to this are looking to grow their friendly design team.

In this specialist role you will be the go-to person for heading up specialist P&C projects, as you work closely with clients to understand their requirements, providing technical support to them and junior team members. You will undertake end-to-end work including overseeing site teams, undertaking calculations and carrying out hands-on design work primarily in the office, with some client visitation and occasional WFH.

This specialist role would suit a Protection & Control Design Engineer or similar looking to join a tight-knit team within a growing company who provide the chance to be the go-to specialist on cutting edge projects and to further your career.

The Role:

  • Lead and carry out end-to-end project work on P&C projects
  • Schematic, cable block and diagram design
  • Prepare bill of materials and carry out cable sizing calculations
  • Work within a tight-knit team, mentor junior team members and liaise with other departments
  • Primarily office based with occasional client visitation and WFH

The Person:

  • Design Engineer or similar
  • Protection & Control / P&C experience
  • Commutable to Newcastle
