On offer is the exciting opportunity for an Environmental Advisor/Consultant/Ecologist to join one of the UK's largest engineering powerhouses. Founded around 150 years ago, this organisation has remained at the forefront of technology and innovation and is world-renowned for its training, development, high standards of work, and overall contribution to the engineering industry.
In this role, the successful Environmental Advisor/Consultant/Ecologist would be responsible for implementing environmental elements to the compliance management system, including, but not limited to, environmental policies, risk assessments, procedures, guidance notes, and more, and be able to communicate these effectively to key internal and external stakeholders and other key areas. Other key areas will be the sustainability strategy, focusing on activities in the workplace, marketplace, and overall community. This role will also involve some night working and working away, which you will get back in lieu, as well as working in a hybrid environment.
The ideal candidate must be local to Glasgow or willing to relocate to the area and be eager to join a large global engineering and defence business.
The Role:
- Provide specialist advice on sustainability and environmental legislative and contractual compliance for the project.
- Manage the project's Environmental Management Plan, Emergency Response Plan, Environmental Risk Profile, and Aspects and Impact register.
- Develop within the environmental management platform a project-specific Environment and Sustainability Threats and Opportunities profile.
- Implement and continuously improve the compliance management system to the ISO 14001 standard for the site.
- More responsibilities as required.

The Person:
- Local to Glasgow or moving to the area.
- Happy to work occasional nights/weekends, which the time will be given back in the week.
- Travel to relevant sites as/when required (travel is covered).
