Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer looking to take the next step in your career with a new and exciting challenge with a well-established company?

Do you have experience working with new product design and development, and are you looking to join an established and growing manufacturer that values its employees and has a proven track record of developing and promoting new staff who invest in Continuous improvement and drive innovation?

On offer is a role reporting to the Technical Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the design, engineering and specification of all new products alongside the maintenance of the existing product range, and any modifications as may become necessary.

Reporting to the Technical Engineering Manager and alongside the Design team, you will be expected to generate production-ready designs and help ensure the smooth running of the department, ensuring new products are concluded within the agreed timescales and to the standards expected.

The role:

  • Work closely with the Technical Engineering Manager, design and development department, taking products from conception to detailed engineering drawings for manufacture
  • Determine manufacturing methods for engineering designs
  • Carry out DFMEA at the outset of each project
  • Ensure that tolerance analysis is carried out during the design process
  • Work with all departments involved in the NPD program, in particular, Development, Production Engineering & Purchasing, ensuring design for manufacture is implemented before product handover

The person:

  • Either degree educated or a proven engineering background with a strong bias to mechanical engineering
  • Sheet metal manufacturing experience and knowledge of sheet metal processes
