On offer is the exciting opportunity for a Coded Welder to join one of the UK's largest and most well-respected defence and engineering organisations. World renowned, this business is responsible for building a large number of the Ministry of Defence's core infrastructure. Founded around 150 years ago, they have been at the forefront of innovation, earning themselves a great reputation as market leaders in all aspects.
In this role, the successful Coded Welder would be responsible for working on a wide range of Submarine projects. You'll be at the heart of one of the UK's most critical defence projects where you'll contribute directly to the maintenance and modification of submarines and naval vessels, helping to protect national security. This is more than just welding - it's precision engineering with purpose where you will be given the opportunity to further your career in an environment where you will be surrounded by industry experts.
The ideal Coded Welder/MMA Welder would have a track record in a similar role, a minimum of a level 2 NVQ or similar in a relevant qualification, and be happy to work a 4-week rotating shift pattern.
The Role:
- Work primarily on submarines, with additional tasks on ships and in factory environments.
- Executing high-quality welding using specialised tools and machinery.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Supporting the HMS Victorious project within our Submarines business unit.
- Collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to meet project milestones.
The Person:
- Coded Welder/MMA Welder or similar.
- Level 2 or above.
- Local to Plymouth or moving to the area.
- Happy to work shifts.
The Shifts:
- Week 1: Monday to Friday days.
- Week 2: Monday to Friday nights.
- Week 3: Monday to Sunday days.
- Week 4: Monday to Thursday days.
