We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled, part-time or full-time, Horticultural Service Technician to join our established team at our Marlesford branch in Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a respected and supportive business, working with a wide range of horticultural equipment.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and servicing of horticultural machinery sold by our sales departments. This is a hands-on role requiring technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs and servicing on horticultural equipment
  • Maintain and repair machinery to a high standard for our customers
  • Work on a variety of equipment including grass, garden, utility, and small agricultural machinery
  • Identify hydraulic and electrical issues using modern diagnostic tools and software
  • Deliver excellent customer service both in person and over the phone
  • Work independently and collaboratively within the service team
  • Handle equipment safely, including some heavy lifting (with appropriate care and assistance when required)

About You

  • Knowledge of domestic or professional grass machinery (advantageous)
  • Good understanding of horticultural, garden, utility, or small agricultural machinery
  • Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic and electrical faults
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills
  • Comfortable using computers and diagnostic systems
  • Self-motivated with the ability to use your own initiative
  • A team player with a flexible approach to work
  • Full, clean UK driving licence

Start date: subject to notice period

Hours: 24 hours per week or 39 hours per week (1-hour unpaid lunch)

Salary: competitive, dependent upon experience, with bonus and company mobile phone
