We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Area Sales Manager to join our successful team at Ernest Doe Power, Albourne, West Sussex. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven sales professional with a passion for machinery and customer relationships to develop and grow construction equipment sales across a designated territory.
Representing leading brands including New Holland Construction, CASE Construction, Merlo, Thwaites, Atlas Copco, and Bomag, you’ll play a key role in winning new business, developing existing accounts, and driving growth across the region. Ernest Doe & Sons is a long-established, family-run business with over 100 years of experience supplying agricultural, construction, and groundcare machinery across East Anglia, the South East, and East Midlands.
Reporting directly to the Branch & Sales Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Driving sales growth of new and used construction machinery within your area
- Promoting premium construction brands and identifying opportunities to increase market share
- Building strong, long-term customer relationships through regular visits and account management
- Negotiating deals, preparing quotations, and closing sales
- Maintaining accurate records, managing pipeline activity, and reporting on sales performance
- Positively promoting the Ernest Doe brand and product offering at all times
Requirements:
- Proven sales experience, ideally within construction and/or agricultural machinery
- Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Experience managing accounts and building long-term customer relationships
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel
- Practical use of Google Maps for route planning and customer visits
- Willingness to attend training and maintain product knowledge
- Full UK driving licence required
Additional Information:
- Competitive salary plus commission/bonus potential

- Hours: 42.5 hours per week, 8am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday (1 hour unpaid lunch). Additional hours as required which may include weekends as per rota especially during peak periods.

- Salary: £Competitive, dependent upon experience plus commission, company car and mobile phone
