We are recruiting for a Goods Inwards & Parts Person to assist the Parts department at our Dartford branch, based in Kent.

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Parts & Retail Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day operation of the goods inward area and all parts and showroom-related deliveries. Alongside this, you will support retail sales within the showroom, including Parts, Hardware, Clothing, and Groundcare Machinery. You’ll play a key role in delivering excellent customer service, responding to customer enquiries about our products and services both face-to-face and over the telephone.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of, or an interest in, general machinery (beneficial but not essential)
  • Comfortable working in a busy environment and able to cope under pressure
  • Strong communication skills – face-to-face, telephone, email, and written
  • Previous retail or showroom experience (desirable)
  • General computer skills, including email and internet use
  • Ability to support internal workshop technicians with parts identification
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Smart and presentable appearance
  • High level of attention to detail, particularly when handling cash, cheque, and card payments
  • A team player who can also work confidently on their own
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good general level of health and fitness

Key Responsibilities

  • Goods receiving and distribution of orders
  • Transfer of stock into stores and showroom
  • Unpacking branch bins and processing supplier deliveries
  • Loading and unloading of internal delivery lorries
  • Managing customer delivery and collection shelving
  • Stock checking as required
  • Managing and maintaining showroom stock levels
  • Providing efficient, friendly, and professional customer service at all times

Additional Information:

Location: Dartford, Kent DA4 9HQ
Start Date: Immediate, but subject to candidate notice period
Hours: 39 hours per week – 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4pm Friday (1-hour unpaid lunch) Saturdays as per rota. Overtime paid at time and a half on completion of 39 hours Monday to Friday.
Contract: Permanent, Full time, Hourly Paid
Salary: £Competitive, depending on experience
