We are hiring for our sales team in East & West Sussex. We are looking for someone with a strong sales background; a skilled closer with a keen interest in groundcare, golf, or horticultural machinery. A machinery background is desirable, but a skilled sales person can learn to sell any product!

This role would suit someone who enjoys a high degree of autonomy, enjoys forging client relationships and working in an evolving industry.

Role Purpose & Duties:

  • You will be responsible for nurturing and maintaining existing customer relationships, while seeking out new business opportunities with a key focus on golf.
  • Ernest Doe & Sons Ltd has the privilege of selling the most advanced Golf Greens mowers and Fairway mowers on the market, and the promotion of this machine will be a key aspect of the role.
  • With a clearly defined territory, you will operate with an elevated level of autonomy once established in the role.
  • Supported by the Branch & Field Sales Manager to champion your success, you will complete the full sales cycle; from enquiry to delivery, and eventually renewal.

  • Ability to understand technical machinery operation
  • Confidence to sell to all levels from operator to CEO
  • Professional and disciplined work ethic
  • Full driving license

Other duties:

  • Representing the Dealership and portfolio of brands to customers in defined sales area of responsibility
  • Maintains up to date product knowledge
  • Attending customer focused events
  • Ensuring products are delivered to the customer in-line with brand and company guidelines and the customer experience is first class
  • Build strong and loyal relationships with customers within the sales area
  • Customer satisfaction and customer service
  • Target driven with the ability to upsell to achieve and exceed targets
  • Be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative
  • Has the ability to be influencing and persuading and able to close a deal
  • Have the ability where necessary to demonstrate equipment
  • Administratively organized and able to use Excel, Word, Outlook and Google maps

Additional Information:

  • Start Date: Immediate, but subject to replacement of existing role if successful
  • Location: Albourne, West Sussex - Covering East & West Sussex
  • Hours: 42.5hrs per week – 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday (1hr unpaid lunch). Additional hours as required which may include overnight stays on company trips.
  • Contract: Permanent, Full Time, Salaried
  • Salary: £ Competitive, depending on experience, plus commission and company vehicle.
