Join a Science department committed to high standards and exceptional teaching. Ernest Bevin Academy is seeking to appoint an ambitious and inspirational Teacher of Science to join a committed and forward-thinking department. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong classroom practitioner who is passionate about delivering high-quality teaching and ensuring students achieve excellent outcomes. The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to contribute to Key Stage 5 teaching for suitably experienced applicants.

• You will play a key role in delivering an ambitious and engaging Science curriculum that challenges students to think critically, apply knowledge confidently and achieve strong academic outcomes.
• You will join a department that values collaboration, high expectations and evidence-informed teaching practice.
• Planning and delivering high quality lessons that secure strong student progress.
• Creating a positive and purposeful classroom environment.
• Using assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform teaching.
• Adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners.
• Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to strengthen teaching and learning.
• Contributing to curriculum development and departmental improvement.
• Supporting the wider life of the school through enrichment and pastoral contributions.

Person specification:

• The successful candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have strong subject knowledge in Science.
• Demonstrate effective teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, with A Level teaching desirable.
• Be an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations of all students.
• Have strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be committed to inclusive education and raising achievement for all learners.
• Be willing to contribute positively to the wider school community.
