Following the creation of a new integrated Professional Services team, ERMC is seeking a Graduate or Newly Qualified Quantity Surveyor to join our growing practice.
This role offers the opportunity to support cost planning, procurement, contract administration, project delivery and client reporting across a varied portfolio, while working closely with surveyors, project managers, designers and asset specialists.
The role
- Assist with cost planning, estimating and budget preparation for construction and maintenance projects.
- Support the preparation of bills of quantities, schedules of work, tender documents and contract information.
- Assist with procurement processes, tender analysis and contractor appointments.
- Support contract administration, including valuations, variations, payment notices and cost reporting.
- Monitor project expenditure and help identify cost risks, savings and value-for-money opportunities.
- Contribute to final account preparation and project close-out activities.
- Work closely with building surveyors, project managers and design colleagues to support effective project delivery.
- Prepare clear reports, records and updates for clients and internal teams.
- What we are looking for
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline.
- Ambition to achieve or build upon MRICS status through the Quantity Surveying and Construction pathway.
- Good numerical, analytical and commercial awareness.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage workload across multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Positive, collaborative and client-focused approach.
Desirable
- APC progress or recently achieved chartered status.
- Placement or early career experience in a quantity surveying, cost consultancy or contractor environment.
- Knowledge of JCT contracts, tendering processes and construction cost management.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, cost reporting tools or measurement software.
