ERM is hiring a Safety Specialist to work onsite at a key client’s facility in Reading, PA. The ideal candidate will bring technical capability and deep understanding of regulations, as well as business processes to help our client proactively address their EHS risks and challenges. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) limited-term role, with a duration of 3 months, extendable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site health and safety support at client facilities such as training, review of change requests, incident investigations, and hazard reviews.
  • Prepare technical reports and other deliverables.
  • Achieve client’s expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Assist in the development of solutions to technical and regulatory issues and concerns.
  • Design and implement corporate health and safety strategies and programs for safety, compliance auditing, safety management systems, process safety and risk management, high-impact training, and general compliance support.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in safety, occupational health, engineering, or related science degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience with significant industrial clients on regulatory compliance and sustainable health and safety programs, with emphasis on manufacturing and chemical sectors.
  • Certification in the field (ASP, CSP, CIH, or similar) is desirable but not required.
  • Passionate about EHS performance improvement with substantial experience in practical implementation.
  • Solid understanding of relevant local, state, and federal regulations as they apply to heavy industry and capital projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Local candidates preferred. Per-diem provided for out-of-area candidates.
