ERM are seeking an Acoustic Managing Consultant. You’ll support the delivery of high-quality noise and vibration services for internal and external clients, with support for your professional development and career growth at ERM. You will apply your skills to help clients deliver the Low Carbon Economy Transition by providing noise and vibration assessments for projects (onshore and offshore wind, solar, battery storage, grid connection) in the UK and internationally. You will also work on schemes such as industrial, infrastructure, noise modelling and long-term noise and vibration monitoring, undertaking noise surveys, analysing data and writing reports with our experienced team.

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of high-quality noise and vibration services for clients
  • Undertake noise surveys, analyse data and write reports
  • Lead projects, manage technical delivery, and ensure outputs meet standards and deadlines
  • Collaborate with colleagues on schemes including industrial, infrastructure, and long-term monitoring
  • Contribute to client engagements across onshore/offshore wind, solar, storage and grid projects

About You / Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in acoustics or a closely related discipline (supported by a recognised acoustics diploma)
  • Full Membership of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA)
  • At least six years’ relevant experience in acoustic consultancy or a similar technical environment
  • Strong grasp of acoustic principles and ability to lead technical delivery
  • Full UK driving licence to support site and project commitments
  • Chartered status is favorable
  • Knowledge of UK environmental legislation, policy and guidance as it relates to acoustics
  • Experience with industry-standard noise modelling software (e.g., CadnaA, SoundPLAN) and working knowledge of GIS and/or CAD tools
  • Experience with UK wind farm projects, underwater noise assessments, and QA processes is advantageous
