ERM are seeking an experienced air quality specialist to join the EMEA regional team. The role will focus on industrial air quality, covering a wide range of sectors including: carbon capture; hydrogen and derivatives; data centres; mining; power; waste; oil and gas. The candidate will be part of a regional team with the opportunity to work on large scale projects throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East, develop wide ranging knowledge and expertise and work on first of a kind projects.
The candidate will be expected to have a good level of competency in the development of emissions inventories, undertaking industrial air quality models using ADMS and Aermod, post-processing, report writing and the design, oversight and management of ambient air quality monitoring. The candidate will also be required to undertake review and quality assurance for work undertaken by the junior members of the team, and also provide on the job training and mentoring. The position is ideal for someone who wishes to expand their technical expertise, geographical experience and work on challenging and rewarding projects.
Required experience
- Multi project experience of impact assessment for industrial projects (traffic impact assessment alone will not suffice)
- Good level of competency in developing industrial Emissions Inventories from first principles
- Good level of competency in industrial dispersion modelling, and a good working knowledge of ADMS and Aermod are essential
- Competency in the design implementation and management of ambient air quality monitoring programs
- Competent report writing skills in English
Preferred Skills
- Thorough understanding of UK Planning and Permitting regimes and air quality impact assessment for these
- Knowledge of international impact assessment following IFC guidelines
