What Your Impact Is

As an ESG Assurance Associate / Senior Associate, you will help deliver independent assurance engagements for a wide portfolio of global clients. You will:

  • Support the assurance of ESG and greenhouse gas (GHG) information used in sustainability reporting, sustainability‑linked finance, product claims, and carbon market activities.
  • Conduct research, analytical data reviews, evidence checks, site visits, and disclosure assessments under the guidance of experienced colleagues.
  • Ensure project documentation meets independent assurance standards and ERM’s internal quality requirements.
  • Participate in discussions and visits with client teams, both at head offices and operational sites.
  • Play an essential role in upholding the credibility and trustworthiness of ESG information across diverse sectors.

What You’ll Bring

Required

  • A degree in sustainability, environmental studies, engineering, business, audit, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience with exposure to ESG/GHG data, sustainability reporting, or assurance concepts.
  • Broad interest in sustainability and global societal challenges, with awareness of issues such as governance, climate change, supply chain impacts, human rights, and community relations.
  • Foundational knowledge of sustainability and GHG reporting frameworks (e.g., ASRS, GRI, GHG Protocol, ISSB, CDP, DJSI, TCFD, SDGs).
  • Strong analytical and data‑handling skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Clear and concise communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks across multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • A collaborative approach, self‑motivation, and a willingness to learn quickly.
  • Willingness to travel for client site visits as needed.

Preferred

  • Experience or familiarity with sustainability assurance and audit standards such as ISAE 3000, ISAE 3410, ISO 14064‑3, or PCAOB attestation frameworks.
  • Technical understanding of environmental impacts, emissions, climate change, or GHG quantification.
  • Prior involvement in client‑facing work or relationship‑building activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers in the delivery of ESG and GHG assurance engagements.
  • Perform assurance testing activities, including media research, data analysis, evidence collection, disclosure review, and site visit support.
  • Maintain well‑structured project files aligned with assurance standards and ERM’s internal systems.
  • Assist senior colleagues during client meetings, head office engagements, and facility‑level visits.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of assurance processes and team knowledge.
  • Work collaboratively across projects to help ensure high‑quality outputs and timely delivery.
