We’re looking for a Senior Developer / Technical Lead with deep expertise in Elixir and Erlang to help shape, mentor and grow our development team. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll set technical direction, ensure quality delivery and support the personal and professional growth of our engineers. You’ll spend around 80% of your time contributing directly to projects and 20% leading and supporting the wider engineering team through technical guidance, collaboration, and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain technical and architectural standards across new and legacy projects.
- Lead design decisions and ensure solutions are implemented with quality and consistency.
- Provide technical mentorship and help colleagues to unblock challenges.
- Communicate project goals and priorities clearly at kick‑off and throughout delivery.
- Supervise project progress, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
- Promote knowledge sharing and teamwork.
- Stay up to date with new tools and research and development, promoting them across the business.
- Contribute to recruitment by setting technical standards and supporting interviews.
- Support pre‑sales activities by providing technical insight and presenting technical solutions to potential customers.
- Play a key role in new product development.
- Foster a strong developer community by organising hackathons, meet‑ups and attending conferences.
- Help with resourcing developers to projects, ensuring the right skills are aligned with customer needs.
Must have experience
- A seasoned Senior Developer/Architect with extensive experience in Elixir and Erlang software development now seeking to step into a Technical Lead.
- Strong track record of mentoring or leading others while delivering high‑quality solutions.
- Ability to set and communicate clear technical direction.
- Lead by example, setting a high standard for the team to follow.
- Someone who thrives in a growing, innovative environment.
- Experience working on complex technical projects and solving challenging problems.
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative and supportive approach.
