This exciting and established client is looking to add a Lead Platform Engineer to their development team. The successful candidate will have proven experience in a similar role, with extensive hands-on expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for managing networks and systems. You will have a track record of enhancing deployment practices, strengthening infrastructure capabilities, and improving operational resilience. This role also includes line-management responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Platform Engineer responsibilities including hands-on infrastructure work and line-management responsibilities.
Core skills:
- Excellent experience with IaC in a multi-region cloud environment using Terraform, Ansible or OpenTofu
- Strong experience with Linux-based operating systems
- Proficiency in at least one coding language such as Go, Python or TypeScript
- Solid experience with data storage systems including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch and Redis
- Experience running a data-warehousing solution and a customer data platform
- Hands-on knowledge of core internet technologies (TCP, HTTP, DNS, etc.)
- Experience managing a small team
- Experience with AWS is desirable
