Job Purpose
The Strategic Procurement Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of strategic aluminium extrusion suppliers, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of Multi-Functional Team (MFT) projects. This role also oversees the Aluminium ConBid process, a critical function in managing Airbus's global aluminium supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Management & Strategy
- Manage strategic aluminium extrusion suppliers globally.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Lead supplier selection processes, including Call for Tenders and contract negotiations.
- Conduct regular supplier reviews and performance assessments.
- Project Management (MFT)
- Lead or support MFT projects, ensuring delivery on time, cost, and quality.
- Contribute to the deployment of commodity strategies aligned with Airbus procurement policies.
- Identify cost improvement opportunities and support company-wide initiatives (e.g., MOVE, A350XWB RC2020+, A330).
- Supervise and support Transfer of Work (ToW) activities.
- Manage supplier-related risks and define mitigation strategies.
- Contract & Commercial Management
- Negotiate and manage contract terms and conditions.
- Ensure consistency between contracts and Airbus systems (e.g., SAP).
- Lead contract reviews and support supplier development initiatives.
- ConBid & Enablement
- Oversee the Aluminium ConBid process, including demand monitoring, allocation optimization, and change request analysis.
- Ensure subcontractors are enabled to procure under Airbus terms using the Enablement process.
- Identify and mitigate potential contractual breaches.
