Belcan is seeking an experienced Senior Static Stress Engineer with a strong track record in aircraft airframe structural analysis to join our cutting‑edge Research & Technology team. You will drive correlation between physical test results and analytical outputs, own your work, and keep programs on track with confidence and independence. This is a long‑term contract role and is Inside IR35.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Interrogate, navigate, and interpret GFEM models to correlate analysis with test outcomes.
- Perform detailed test data analysis.
- Produce clear, professional reports in the established Airbus style.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience as an aircraft stress engineer, analysing primary structures using both hand calculations and computational methods (including ISAMI).
- Strong background in linear FEA (Nastran, Patran / HyperMesh).
- Solid understanding of aircraft production methods.
- Ability to quickly assess structural challenges and guide team members effectively.
- Self‑driven, comfortable working autonomously, and proactive in solving problems.
- Excellent communication across presentations, discussions, and technical reports.
Bonus Skills
- Experience in R&D environments.
- Familiarity with 3DX, especially "Design Model to FEM" conversion.
