As the Head of Compliance for Market Area Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA), you will have overall responsibility to lead a team of compliance officers in a dynamic and exciting region. You will serve a diverse set of business and organizational units across the region and partner with business stakeholders to implement Ericsson’s Ethics and Compliance program and drive accountability for compliance throughout the business.
Ericsson’s Compliance Office, under the leadership of the Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Investigations, is responsible for all components of Ericsson’s Ethics and Compliance Program. This includes compliance with our Code of Business Ethics, anti-fraud, anti-bribery and corruption, anti-terrorism, and identifying emerging risks. You will also support matters related to sanctions, export controls, antitrust, human rights, and anti-money laundering. As Head of Compliance for the Market Area, you will drive an integrity-led culture and implement key policies and procedures. You will report to the Chief Compliance Officer & Head of Investigations and collaborate on training, risk assessments, due diligence, monitoring, and investigations. You will analyze and report on the effectiveness of the compliance program.
You will lead and develop a diverse team of Compliance Officers, setting expectations and managing performance. You will guide them in partnering with business stakeholders to make sound judgments, implement the compliance program, and support risk management.
This role is hybrid, with an “office first” approach (approximately 60% in office), and can be located in any city within EMEA with an Ericsson office.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead all aspects of the Ethics & Compliance program in the region.
- Act as a trusted advisor, supporting business stakeholders in managing compliance risks and providing expert advice.
- Foster a culture of ethics and compliance and shared responsibility across the organization.
- Manage governance activities, including relevant committees and boards.
- Oversee third-party engagement and monitoring.
- Lead compliance training initiatives.
- Manage conflicts of interest, expenditure risks, and engagements with public officials.
- Lead remediation efforts from investigations or other processes.
- Collaborate on risk identification and mitigation.
- Improve compliance programs and initiatives.
- Analyze ethics and compliance data to enhance the program.
- Identify opportunities for AI use in compliance and promote responsible use.
- Manage an assigned budget.
Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of experience in ethics & compliance leadership in a multinational organization.
- A legal degree is strongly preferred.
- Experience working in high-risk markets within the region.
- Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and manage risks.
- Experience in a matrixed organization and stakeholder collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex topics.
- Strong ownership and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing diverse teams across multiple locations.
- Impeccable judgment, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive issues.
- Positive attitude and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in relevant languages and ability to work across time zones and travel internationally.
