We are delighted to be recruiting an Apprentice Site Manager to join our Eric Wright Construction team in the Greater Manchester area delivering new and exciting projects. Reporting to the Site Manager and Project Manager you will learn and assist in carrying out their duties onsite regarding safety, quality, cost control and delivery on programme.
Responsibilities
- Learn about site safety, ensuring that the highest possible safety standards are maintained onsite at all times and that the appropriate safety culture is developed on site with site team and sub‑contractors.
- Assist Site Management in the management of the site team / sub‑contractors.
- Assist in the management and co‑ordination of site activities.
- Learn about programming and aid the PM / SM by monitoring works onsite against the site programmes.
- Complete daily diary to record works and activities on site.
- Familiarise and learn about method statements and risk assessments and aid the site manager in ensuring that all works have the appropriate RAMS in place in advance of the works.
- Assist in delivery of safety and environmental management systems and project compliance with key elements subject to safety, environmental and quality audit.
- Learn about cost control by working with Site Manager and the Site QS, aid the team by learning about effective cost control measures.
- Attend/minute all necessary internal and external meetings.
- Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
- Comply with Company rules, policies and procedures at all times.
- Support EWG Learning foundation.
- Aid the project team to achieve Considerate Constructors goals.
Qualifications
- Hold a valid Driving licence.
- Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
- Comply with Company rules, policies and procedures at all times including those relating to data protection and information security.
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks which may be required from time to time and to enable the company to remain adaptable to changing markets and needs.
- Communicate effectively at all levels in a way that encourages two‑way communication.
- Be comfortable working and speaking with both groups and individuals.
- Be comfortable writing emails / letters and having discussions over email.
- Proficient with IT i.e. using laptops, tablets and the like.
