The predicted salary is between 800 - 1400 £ per month.

Due to a period of growth, we have a new and exciting role for an Apprentice Site Engineer to join our Civil Engineering team based out of our offices in Preston. Reporting to Site Engineers, you will help to maintain dimensional control of projects and to build to relevant drawings and details, keeping records of compliance, and communicating this to the workforce. You will assist in the delivery of a project that matches the contract drawings in terms of dimensions, depths, size, position, verticality, etc., using materials that conform with the specification, to the expected quality, in line with the programme.

What You’ll Do
- Work with the Engineer to set out and accurately give dimensional control to building operations.
- Read and understand drawings and other information such as specifications and B of Q’s.
- Produce ‘take offs’ of materials required and see that they are correctly referenced for requisitioning.
- Ensure that surveying instruments are in good order, particularly cleaning and drying when used in the rain.
- Assist in keeping accurate records of quantities and measures for payment purposes.
- Assist in maintaining Quality Assurance records including photos, test records and prescribed inspections as required by the Quality Plan.
- Report any non-conformances for sign off with the Quality Manager.
- Assist the Engineer to produce As-Built drawings and information.
- Assist with general supervision of sub-contractors in ensuring that they meet the required standard of work without damage or disruption to other trades.
- Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
- Comply with Company rules, policies and procedures at all times.
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks which may be required from time to time to enable the company to remain adaptable to changing markets and needs.
About You
- Possess excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
- Have clear, concise and strong oral and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate confidently with all members of the construction team.
- Experience and knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office programs, in particular Excel and Word.
- Recognise submission requirements and compile a logical sequence of actions necessary to achieve the deadline.
- Ability to assess workload and manage allocation of time to ensure all targets and deadlines are met.
- Work toward the ability to read and understand technical requirements of the works.
- Working in a commercially sensitive environment and understanding the necessary confidentiality and data protection issues.
- Holds current driving licence.
- Continue Professional development with a view to gaining professional recognition.
