We are currently recruiting for an Activity Coordinator for Castlewood Care Home, a brand new, state‑of‑the‑art care home in Clitheroe.
Castlewood Care Home is a brand new, state‑of‑the‑art residential care home for the elderly, dedicated to community, dignity and purpose. The facility includes a dedicated gym and modern living spaces to support person‑centred care.
Responsibilities
- Develop and plan programmes, outings and events; attend events and oversee activity implementation.
- Ensure the programme reflects residents’ wishes and preferences.
- Support residents to access social networks and maintain personal interests within policy, standards, legislation and financial budget.
- Work from other locations as required.
- Produce newsletters and support communication via the internet, letter writing, Skype and FaceTime.
- Plan events within allocated budget and ensure residents are at the heart of programmes.
- Promote and protect the welfare of residents.
- Develop effective working relationships within the workforce and with multidisciplinary teams.
- Adhere to relevant code of practice and attend statutory training as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to engage large and small groups.
- Certification as an Activities Professional by a recognised accrediting organisation (e.g., NAPA).
- Proficient computer skills for research, event support and production of newsletters and posters.
- Leadership and influencing skills to encourage participation and engagement.
- Experience in the role is valued; heart and dedication are essential.
- Knowledge of event planning practices and techniques.
- Problem‑solving skills to adapt activities quickly.
