Job Description
The Director, Clinical Vendor Strategy leads Ergomed's clinical outsourcing strategy and vendor governance across the clinical development portfolio. Partnering with Clinical Operations, Vendor Management, Therapeutic Strategy, Regulatory, Quality, and Finance teams, this role drives vendor selection, strategic partnerships, and outsourcing excellence to support successful clinical trial delivery. Serving as a strategic advisor from proposal development through study transition to operations, the role combines expertise in clinical operations, vendor management, and process improvement to enhance quality, scalability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The position also leads cross-functional initiatives to optimize outsourcing models and support organizational growth and evolving portfolio needs.
- Lead vendor outsourcing strategies for proposals and RFPs, ensuring alignment with study requirements, timelines, budgets, quality standards, and sponsor expectations.
- Evaluate, select, and recommend vendors, providing strategic guidance on capabilities, capacity, global reach, and operational readiness.
- Partner with Vendor Management to strengthen supplier relationships, improve cost transparency, and support strategic sourcing decisions.
- Present outsourcing strategies in bid defenses and sponsor meetings to support business development efforts.
- Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships that drive collaboration, innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.
- Lead initiatives to optimize and scale outsourcing processes, improving efficiency, quality, predictability, and cost effectiveness.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, collaborating across Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Quality, Finance, and other functions to support successful trial delivery.
- Provide insights on vendor performance, risks, capacity, and readiness to inform portfolio planning and decision-making.
- Develop tools, training, and best practices to strengthen organizational capabilities in outsourcing and vendor governance.
- Ensure outsourced activities comply with ICH-GCP, regulatory requirements, quality standards, and organizational policies, while supporting inspection readiness and quality initiatives.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (at least Bachelors: Master's or equivalent) preferred.
- Progressive experience in Clinical Operations, Clinical Trial Management, Vendor Oversight, or Outsourcing Management within a CRO, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical environment.
- Proven experience in clinical trial management and execution across multiple phases and therapeutic areas.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing vendor outsourcing strategies.
- Experience supporting proposal development, RFP responses, and business development activities.
- Strong understanding of global clinical development processes and outsourced service models.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives, process improvements, and organizational change programs.
