Location: We have offices in both York, YO10 5DG and London, WC1V 6AZ and we are open to candidates from either location.
Salary: £30,154.60 per annum (pro rata of £43,078 FTE)

Make a real impact in Higher Education. Advance HE is looking for a skilled and passionate Researcher to lead a high-profile new initiative: the national pilot of the Pre-Arrival Questionnaire (PAQ). This project will give institutions across England a deeper understanding of student needs and experiences helping to shape better outcomes both during and beyond their studies. This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead on a project with lasting sector-wide influence.
You will convene participation from around 30 institutions, manage delivery with external stakeholders, and produce impactful insights through engaging presentations and interactive Power BI reporting.
In addition to this, as our Researcher you will be responsible for:
- Project manage the delivery of the PAQ pilot, including convening participation and working with high-profile advisory groups.
- Design and deliver surveys and reports that set standards for the project and future national initiatives.
- Analyse complex data and produce clear, interactive benchmarking dashboards using Power BI.
- Present insights and shape policy-focused recommendations for internal and external audiences.
- Support Advance HE's wider Research & Surveys portfolio with innovative, mixed-methods research.
In order to be successful in this role you must have / be:
- Experience in survey design, implementation, and analysis.
- Expert user of Power BI for data visualisation and interactive reporting.
- Proven success managing projects with multiple external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and focus on strategic impact.
- Diplomatic, flexible, and collaborative, comfortable operating in high-profile environments.
