The successful candidate, on completion of the apprenticeship and passing the End Point Assessment, may be eligible for a permanent position if available. When the apprentice has successfully achieved an apprenticeship qualification the apprentice will remain with the Council where a job opportunity exists, subject to satisfactory performance and conduct. Progression opportunities may be discussed at interview.

This apprenticeship offers full-on, hands-on training in the workplace for five days a week, with one day released for off-the-job learning at college. You will gain practical experience alongside expert guidance, combining real-world skills with formal qualifications. The work pattern will be discussed at interview.

Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on horticultural machinery
  • Supporting the servicing of council vehicles, including vans and HGVs
  • Learning from experienced technicians and gaining real-world workshop experience
  • Attending Riseholme College in Lincoln one day every week
