Our client is a British manufacturer founded in 1984. They create solutions to meet the challenges of integrating power and AV/data access for people working in offices and commercial spaces. They provide a total product range from underfloor powertrack and power hub power distribution systems, floor boxes, workstation power and AV/data modules to monitor arms, CPU supports and cable management solutions that are designed to be quick and easy to install and adaptable for contractor, client and end-user.
About the role
As Production Team Leader, you will manage, organise and control the day to day running of the production line(s) or area, ensuring that the team deliver planned volume in the most cost-effective way whilst adhering to quality standards in terms of product quality, housekeeping and health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the team and ensure that the right resource is available, ensuring team members are appropriately trained and clear of what is expected of them.
- Monitor progress of all orders received through the manufacturing process to ensure it is ready for the required delivery date.
- Maintain an overview and prioritise batching and production of orders alongside the Assistant Production Manager.
- Ensure the best practices are being used, to drive towards operational excellence.
- Drive and evaluate performance vs target through regular monitoring, audits and reviews.
- Identify issues at early stage; develop and implement appropriate solutions and escalate to the Assistant Production Manager as required.
- Maintain standards of quality hygiene and housekeeping within their area.
- Ensure effective and timely communication to the team, management and customers as appropriate e.g. daily briefings and performance feedback.
