Porsche Retail Group have an excellent opportunity for a Workshop Controller to work for one of the world’s most iconic brands and join the prestigious Porsche Centre West London . This impressive Centre is a state-of-the-art building with a Barista service coffee bar, close to public transport links, heavily subsidised parking and is located 5 minutes’ walk from Chiswick High Road, which is full of shops and restaurants.

About the role
As a Workshop Controller you will effectively manage workshop loading, efficiency, productivity and quality, whilst meeting customer expectations, through teamwork, ensuring that commercial and operational requirements are considered at all times. Responsibilities include to:

  • Ensure that all service customers’ requirements are dealt with in the most efficient manner, taking account of time scales and costs
  • Effectively manage workshop, ensuring that Technicians are fully utilised
  • Maximise sold hours in accordance with company targets
  • Be responsible for work experience placement students and apprentice training and supervision
  • Ensure that Technicians are conversant with service and workshop bulletins
  • Update Technicians with appropriate Company information, i.e. policies, announcements etc
  • Maintain a tight control of warranty administration
  • Ensure all work is costed as appropriate
  • Carry out accurate invoicing
  • Understand and promote the ISO quality policy and implement the requirements of the documented quality system
  • Be aware of and promote the Company Health & Safety Policy as it relates to fellow employees, customers and visitors, ensuring the maintenance of tidy and efficient work areas
  • Liaise with Service Advisors and Parts Department regarding workshop loading, special orders and requested completion times

Core Accountabilities as Workshop Controller

  • To understand and assist in the delivery of Business Strategy and Objectives
  • Deliver an agreed level of service to the Internal and External Customer, Business Partners and External Suppliers
  • Take ownership for personal development needs in anticipation of Business requirements
  • Lead and motivate the team, creating the right environment to ensure that team and individual development takes place
  • Ensure the appropriate level of management control and system exploitation is applied to all relevant systems
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times

About you
To be successful for the role of Workshop Controller you must have / be:

  • A strong knowledge of vehicle technology
  • Previous experience in a similar environment
  • The ability to manage a team of 10 technicians
  • Excellent communication and liaison skills

About the rewards
For the role of Workshop Controller , the weekly working hours are 46.25, commencing at 8.00am and finishing at 6.00pm, Monday to Friday and 1 in 4 Saturday’s commencing at 8.00am and finishing at 1.00pm.
There is a basic salary on offer ofup to £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, with a bonus of circa £13,000+. You will also receive a fantastic benefits package, including:

  • 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays
