An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineering Lecturer / Instructor to deliver outstanding Teaching, Learning and Assessment in Engineering, for one of the UKโs largest providers of Apprenticeships and recruitment and training services in Rainham.

About the role
In the role of Senior Engineering Lecturer / Instructor you will be responsible for devising and delivering an exciting, innovative and dynamic L2 NVQ and L3 BTEC education and training programme to the apprentices as part of their first year โoff-the-jobโ instruction. You will:
- Take on a lead role with the programme of delivery and teaching organisation within a purpose built, state-of-the-art engineering training facility.
- Deliver practical and theory based technical instruction and inspire, mentor and excite the apprentices about their learning journey and career prospects whilst offering support and guidance as they progress through their qualification.
- Conduct assessments of work-based learning in both technical, practical tasks as well as monitoring and guiding behavioural competencies.
- Classroom / workshop delivery of M&E syllabus to meet NVQ Level 2 and 3 of EAL. The apprentices will be destined for, depending on their trade, Dagenham Engine Plant or Dunton Technical Centre.
- Assist in the development of schemes of work, learning materials, timetabling / rotation planning, and trainee / learner assignments.
- Act as tutor to apprentices, providing academic guidance and support.
- Assist in the preparation and development of practical facilities and provide Technician / Lecturer support.
- Carry out induction training as detailed in current procedures.
- Liaise with Plant supervisor / managers and Schools.
- Advise and counsel craft apprentices regarding training, welfare and discipline.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings, including providing apprentices progress.
- Participate in careers and marketing events as necessary.
- Act in other ways to assist the organisation to meet its objectives.
- Provide information to your line Manager on recruitment, retention, and achievers.
- Maintain Continuous Professional Development in accordance with current internal and external requirements.
About the responsibilities
As Senior Engineering Lecturer / Instructor, you will be delivering training on:
- A bench fitting course designed to enhance fundamental mechanical understanding.
- A sheet metal / fabrication course designed to enhance fundamental mechanical understanding.
- Additional training sessions on welding.
- Mechanical engineering systems (Gearboxes / process machinery / production systems).
- Machine assembly โ dis-assembly. Fault diagnosis and repair.
- Mechanical / electrical systems maintenance.
About you
To be successful for the role of Senior Engineering Lecturer / Instructor, you will have / be:
- Preferably come from a similar background and bring extensive knowledge and experience in quality training and education programmes within a technical engineering environment; however, someone with a credible career and relevant vocational experience would also be considered.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, be eloquent and highly literate, with the ability to write and present detailed educational material.
About the rewards
For the role of Senior Engineering Lecturer / Instructor, your working hours will be 8am to 4.15pm Monday โ Friday. There is a competitive salary per annum with 25 days annual leave (3 days set aside for Christmas shutdown).
