We have an excellent opportunity for a Trainee Electronic Component Engineer to join this leading provider of electronic design and assembly services in Widnes, Cheshire.

About the role

As a Trainee Electronic Component Engineer, the selection of the right components for a design is critical to its success. Working across the design, new product engineering and procurement teams you will be responsible for the selection, introduction and maintenance of components within the company databases and associated documentation systems and your duties will include:

  • Introduction and maintenance of component records in internal systems
  • Establishing and maintaining technical contacts with major manufacturers and suppliers
  • Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to obtain approvals for new and alternate components and verifying any necessary regulatory approvals
  • Dissemination of critical component information, from new introductions to last time buy and obsolescence notification
  • Assistance with component selection, pricing and lead time data for the design and manufacturing operations

About you

To be successful for the role of Trainee Electronic Component Engineer you must be / have:

  • A degree in electronics or substantial relevant experience
  • Ideally 2 years industrial experience in a related role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be a problem solver with the initiative to find solutions
  • Be well organised and have the ability to multi-task
  • Have a keen eye for important detail
  • Experience with Excel and MRP/ERP systems

About the hours and rewards

For the role of Trainee Electronic Component Engineer there is a salary on offer of up to Β£27,000 per annum depending on experience plus:

  • 25 days holiday (plus an additional 1 day for each complete calendar year, to a maximum of 30 days) plus statutory bank holidays
