We have a superb opportunity for an experienced part-time Bookkeeper. Approximately 30, flexible hours per week where you will mostly work from home with occasional travel to our clients’ premises in Theale, Reading.

Our client is privately-owned and operate exclusively by recommendation, they don’t advertise or employ sales people. They provide bespoke Fire & Security solutions at the extreme high end of the UK market. With a client base predominantly consisting of high-net-worth individuals, they have to ensure the highest possible standards and utilise the very latest technologies in order to maintain their client\’s total security and peace of mind. This company is entrusted with ensuring the ultimate in security solutions for some of the wealthiest families and individuals in the world. About the role
As Bookkeeper the main duties are as follows:

Daily

  • Check bank account regularly and allocate credits received
  • Answer Emails
  • Invoice as required
  • Cancel monitoring connections as necessary
  • Chase Debtors – 2 main chaser days but on-going throughout the month
  • Deal with Reminders on Outlook
  • Download Parking Receipts and enter on Sage
  • Enter Fuel purchases on Sage
  • Verify and Pay Expenses for Office and Engineers
  • Agree Supplier Invoices to Stock POs and enter on Sage
  • Keep list of Returned items and ensure credits received
  • Record Resets on Sage from Scutum Reports
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Update Lost & Gained Spreadsheets
  • Keep Parking Apps and Congestion Account up to date
  • Keep van records (Driver/mileage) up to date
  • Book Vans for Service/MOT/Repair when due. Advise Insurers re van changes
  • Keep Lottery account spreadsheet up to date
  • Download daily tracker reports and note private miles
  • Weekly

  • Send batch Invoices
  • Back Up Sage data x 3 companies
  • Attend meetings with the company directors
  • Monthly

  • Run renewal Invoices after checking list against client sites for any anomalies/POs required etc, Uplift charges and amend those not to be increased
  • Check Sage for Resets given and invoice
  • Reconcile 4 x bank Statements to Sage
  • Reconcile and pay With Credit Card Statements
  • Complete Financial Report and Cashflow
  • Advise on and input Payroll figures and paying employees
  • Download monthly tracker report
  • Attend Figures Meeting
  • Additionally

  • Twice monthly pay suppliers and send Remittance Advices
  • Quarterly VAT – check Return, submit to HMRC and reconcile on Sage x 3 companies
  • Attend Board meeting
  • 6-monthlyPay Tax to HMRC
  • Annually

  • Agree annual fees with Director
  • Ensure Confirmation Statements x 3 submitted to Companies House
  • Calculate winnings to be paid from Lottery account
  • Year End procedure x 3 companies – follow check list,
  • Pay Corporation Tax
  • Produce Budget and cashflow for coming year
  • Insurance – Complete Estimate for coming year to get Quotes/Reports for Directors to agree
  • Complete and submit Year End Declaration
  • Fleet (November) – get Quotes for Directors to agree
  • Electricity – Get quotes for contract renewal and approve with Directors
  • Mobiles – Get quotes for renewal
  • About you

    To be successful for the role of Bookkeeper, you must have / be:

  • Bookkeeping / general accounts experience
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experienced in the use of SAGE line 50
  • About the rewards
    The role of Bookkeeper is a part time role and largely home based however, you would need to attend some meetings at the company office, so you should live within easy access of Theale.

    Full training on the company accounting processes will be given by the current bookkeeper and there is a salary on offer of Β£14 per hour. Benefits include
