We have an excellent opportunity for a Service Lead and Specialist Nutritionist for the NHS Low Calorie Diet Programme to join a leading CQC registered provider of Community Health Services in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

Our client is an exciting, fast-paced, growing community health organisation. As an experienced provider of community health services, they are CQC registered and passionate about delivering evidence-based, innovative, effective, and relevant healthcare services. They are commissioned by NHS England to deliver the innovative Low Calorie Diet Programme. The programme aims to support people who are overweight and living with type 2 diabetes to achieve weight loss, reduce health risk factors, decrease medication needs, and potentially put diabetes into remission. It is delivered across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

About the role

As a Service Lead and Specialist Nutritionist, you will effectively lead the team delivering the NHS Low Calorie programme, providing operational leadership and management with overall responsibility for the project's outputs and outcomes across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building relationships and working closely with ICS partners to drive patient referrals and ensure contract success.
  • Collaborating with team members and the ICS to improve and increase quality referrals while minimizing waiting lists.
  • Delivering training on the NHS Low Calorie programme and supporting GP practices with referrals.
  • Chairing meetings between the ICS and the business, and reporting on data.
  • Analyzing data, writing reports, and discussing these with commissioners monthly and quarterly.
  • Problem-solving referral activity issues.
  • Leading staff meetings, providing clinical supervision, and regular 1:1 support to staff.
  • Supporting staff with motivational interviewing and behavioral change techniques, addressing barriers to attendance, and maintaining patient engagement.
  • Ensuring quality assurance for delivery staff, data, and record keeping.
  • Managing staff performance.
  • Building strong relationships with commissioners and engaging in local stakeholder meetings related to weight management and diabetes care planning.
  • Monitoring performance and providing feedback.
  • Analyzing and reporting client feedback and implementing service development actions.
  • Managing data entry and ensuring data validity with support from the information governance team.
  • Managing your own client caseload and prioritizing workload.

About you

To succeed in this role, previous NHS service management experience is preferable. You must also have:

  • Excellent organizational skills and experience in devising patient-centered processes while managing your caseload.
  • Confidence in data analysis, KPI performance improvement, report writing, and leading contract review meetings.
  • A degree in an accredited Nutrition course.
  • Membership of the UKVRN with the title Registered Nutritionist.
  • Experience in similar roles, particularly working with individuals with type 2 diabetes and overweight/obese adults.
  • The ability to travel independently across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

Rewards

The role is 40 hours per week with a competitive salary ranging from £27,500 to £30,000 per annum. Benefits include: 33 days of annual leave, inclusive of Bank Holidays (increasing with length of service).
