We have an excellent opportunity for a Branch Development Officer to join one of the largest and oldest friendly societies in the UK as part of the Central Office team based in Manchester city centre.
About the organisation
Our client is an established not-for-profit organisation with 396,000 members, of which 42,250 access social events and care support through a thriving network of over 100 Branches across the UK. These are run mostly by volunteers and supported by a professional team in Manchester, their aim is to be the lifestyle membership of choice for the over 50s - helping members get more out of life with a compelling range of social, care and financial support.
About the role
As Branch Development Officer, you will be part of a small team providing professional guidance and support for Branches. The principal aim being to help and support them in delivering an attractive and accessible in-person and online social proposition into the target market. You will:
- Build strong, proactive relationships with Branches to inspire change
- Introduce new initiatives
- Ensure appropriate governance and standards are in place to reflect the Society’s values and achieve key objectives
- Be the main point of contact and support for a number of Branches across the network, whilst working closely with colleagues to share good practice and work collaboratively
About you
As Branch Development Officer, you will have:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with demonstrable ability to communicate with empathy and patience
- Experience of developing strong, collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Experience of implementing change and working with others to adopt new ways of working
- Great planning and organisational skills, self-directed and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- The ability to speak confidently in front of groups of people
- Experience of event organisation and the ability to create and develop social activities to increase membership
- Drive - to do a great job and to keep delivering stronger results
- Experience of working with a membership, not-for-profit or charitable organisation is desirable but not essential
Applicants MUST have a clean UK driving license and be prepared to travel with overnight stays.
About the package

For the full-time role of Branch Development Officer, you will receive a salary of c£32,000 to £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
