We have an excellent opportunity for a Community Operations Coordinator within a charity that provides business support to young people in London by providing dedicated business coaches, workshops, one to one sessions, tailored business programmes, spaces to test trade from and business mentoring. Our client transforms young lives through enterprise by offering holistic and personalised business guidance and support to in-need marginalised young entrepreneurs across London, aged 16 to 30 through workshops, programmes and 1:1 business coaching. They work in collaboration with young people to enable them to start their own business or move into employment or/and education and training. They aim to develop approaches that empower, support and encourage young people to build confidence, follow their aspirations and fulfil their potential.
About the role
As Community Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
- Building relationships with existing tenants and stakeholders and engaging with new potential tenants and stakeholders to access the services.
- Working across the business supporting the Operations Manager with the day to day running of the business centre.
- Fostering opportunities to consult with and build relationships with the wider local Tooting community.
About the responsibilities
In the role of Community Operations Coordinator, duties include:
- Be the first point of contact for clients and visitors, providing excellent, friendly customer service at all times and responding to enquiries.
- Building relationships with customers; the wider community; clients and industry professionals.
- Engage and consult with local residents, businesses and community groups ensuring the organisation is tuned with the needs of the local community to better serve them.
- Identify and engage tenants who can become tenant reps or can donate time and/or resources to the organisation.
- Conduct viewings with prospective clients, gauging their requirements and put together a proposal.
- Responsible for the complete on-boarding process for new co-workers including viewings; completing licensing documents and other related documents; desk/space set up; and inputting their details on our CRM system.
- Maintain customer retention and assigned KPIs.
- Work with Maintenance Team and Operations Manager to ensure spaces are fit for use and adhere to Health and Safety practices.
- Resolve issues with speed, empathy, professionalism, and decisiveness and escalate to the Operations Manager in an efficient manner where necessary.
- Sort out post and deliveries for tenants; Tooting Works and Business Launchpad.
- Support the Operations Manager and Operation Coordinator with coordination of Tenant moving in and moving out process.
- Arrange keys, fobs and allocate post boxes for new tenants, add fire roll call (new tenant checklist).
- Collect keys/fobs when tenants move out (disable access/cancel parking permits).
- Issue parking permit and manage offence procedure.
- Purchase meeting room office supplies and refreshments.
- Deal with suppliers/contractors requiring access to the centre.
- Keep reception area neat and tidy.
About you
The role of Community Operations Coordinator would suit someone a people’s person who is passionate about creating meaningful communities; experienced in community work, PR and promotional events. The ideal candidate will have / be:
- Confident, enjoys taking the initiative and who has the skillset to develop important and lasting relationships.
- Able to act as the face and voice of the brand and manage all community communications.
- A proven track record of being a community ambassador.
- Strong track record of performing successfully in a fast-paced, intellectually deep, service-oriented environment.
- Previous roles which have required strong attention to detail and collaboration.
- 1 year of relevant experience in Operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel.
