This global fashion retailer is seeking a Deputy Manager for their new Bluewater store where you will support all aspects of the store opening, including recruitment, onboarding, and training of the team along with store set-up, visual merchandising, and floor layout implementation, ensuring the best experience for colleagues and customers.

About the role

This is a new store opening and as Deputy Manager you will play a key role during the set-up phase and should be flexible to work extended hours where needed to deliver a successful opening, along with being responsible for creating a good atmosphere and motivating the team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support and assist the Store Manager and work in partnership with the management team
  • Analyse sales performance daily and make strong commercial decisions to maximise results
  • Ensure smooth daily operations, leading the store confidently in the absence of the Store Manager
  • Be a role model to the team, driving great energy and atmosphere on the shop floor
  • Support the growth and development of your team to deliver on KPIs, product knowledge, service, visual merchandising, and operations
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing coaching for your store team
  • Champion company values and help create an inclusive, positive culture for colleagues and customers

  • Experience as a Supervisor, Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager, or similar leadership role within retail
  • Strong communication and people skills - you enjoy building relationships

  • A commercial mindset with a drive for achieving and exceeding results
  • Confidence in navigating change and embracing new challenges (especially in a new store opening environment!)
